THE GATEWAY CENTER,
located on Water St. off Foote Ave. just
below WCA hospital. It's also the home of several other non-profits |
Largest of our rooms on the second floor of
the Gateway Center (formerly known as the Chautauqua Hardware building) |
A smaller room for an office; the wood floors
are strong and the light streams in those big windows |
Susan S. checks out some of the other rooms
that will become exhibit or workshop space. Note the high ceilings
throughout! |
BIGGIE BOXES: Created for our room at
the 2006 Scandinavian Festival, to get a sense of the shrunken "Nils" |

WALNUT GROVE FESTIVAL: We brought our
tent, and fun from the 1800's, to the Fenton Museum on a rainy Saturday in
August 2005 |
The challenge: to find old-fashioned crafts
and games... like hoop-rolling, uphill!

checkers - it was a tough match

SKY JAM 2005: This year the
balloons had gorgeous weather! CMJ was there on August 6. |
Paper airplanes took off, as we watched real
ones above and waited for the balloons. |
Our colorful Ball Pit was a hit with the
little ones. |
Our craft-du-jour was a wooden bookmark
to decorate |
Bubbles floated to the skies in abundance! |

All ages enjoyed our crafts! This young lady
is creating designs at the Flag-making station.
We appreciated help from Project YES students,
here demonstrating the Boondoggling
Crowns and princess hats were popular crafts
(check out those sequins)
Outdoor events included Pancake-Flipping
races, inspired by a Pippi story

FRIENDLY'S IN JULY: We held a
successful fundraiser at Friendly's in Brooklyn Square
Restaurant patrons were treated to games, a
craft and prize baskets.
Young visitors enjoyed the puppet theater
experience
The Ballpit draws toddlers like a magnet. (A
game is ready on the chairs behind him.)
Our thanks for Friendly's for their support of
